Silk is the most luxurious fibre in the world. Dupion silk is a natural fibre and therefore the weave of this fabric may contain very minor irregularities; these are characteristic of high quality pure silk yarn and should not be regarded as faults. Vegetable dyes are used in the dyeing process to compliment the natural silk yarn; however, these dyes have a relatively low light fastness, and consequently, fading will take place when the silk is exposed to natural and artificial light. To enhance the lustre of Dupion silk, we recommend interlining when the end use is curtains. Also, due to the way the silk is embroidered, these designs have bigger selvedges. Please note, all measurements for repeats and widths are approximate.
