Measuring Guide

Measuring for an Inside Recess For A Roman Blind

  Inside Recess Roman Blind

To be sure of the best possible fit, take time to measure your window carefully.

A. Measuring the width: Measure the width of your window recess from wall to wall. Take measurements at three different points just in case your window is not square and write down the smallest measurement. This measurement is called 'Inside Recess' (See fig. 1). A small deduction for clearance will be taken by us from your supplied measurements to ensure your blind can operate smoothly and fits within the recess.

B. Measuring the drop: Measure the height of your window recess from top to sill. Take measurements at three different points just in case your window is not square and write down the smallest measurement.

IMPORTANT
It's important that you carefully measure your windows to ensure your roman blinds fit correctly. If you are in any doubt, please be sure to check again. By supplying these measurements you take full responsibility for the finished size of your roman blinds.

A. Measuring the width: Measure the width that you would like your roman blind. This measurement is called 'Outside Recess' (See fig. 2).

B. Measuring the drop: Measure the length that you would like your roman blind.

Your blind will be made to your given sizes.

IMPORTANT
It's important that you carefully measure your windows to ensure your roman blinds fit correctly. If you are in any doubt, please be sure to check again. By supplying these measurements you take full responsibility for the finished size of your roman blinds.

Measuring for Curtains on a Rail

Measuring Curtains on a Rail

Suitable for curtain heading types:
Pencil Pleat, Triple Pleat and Goblet Headings

To be sure of the best possible fit, take time to measure your window carefully. The curtain rail should be positioned 15cm above the window and extend 15cm - 20cm either side.

A. Measuring the width: Measure the total width of the rail (excluding finials). Don't forget to account for overlap - this is an additional measurement, normally 2.5cm, that allows the hanging curtains to overlap in the middle when they are closed.

B. Measuring the drop: Before measuring the drop, decide whether you want your curtains to fit below the sill or to the floor. We suggest that:

Curtains that fall below the sill finish 15cm below.
Floor length curtains finish 1.5cm from the floor (See fig. 3).

Measure the drop from the top of the rail (See fig. 4).

It's important that you carefully measure your windows to ensure your curtains fit correctly. If you are in any doubt, please be sure to check again. By supplying these measurements you take full responsibility for the finished size of your roman blinds.

Measuring Curtains on a Pole

Measuring Curtains on a Pole

Suitable for curtain heading types:
Pencil Pleat, Eyelet, Tab top, Triple Pleat and Goblet Headings.

To be sure of the best possible fit, take time to measure your window carefully. The curtain pole should be positioned 15cm above the window and extend 15cm - 20cm either side.

For pencil pleat, triple pleat or goblet top curtains measure the drop from the eye - the small metal ring at the bottom of each curtain ring. This will prevent the pole or rings from being obscured by the curtain (See fig. 6).

For eyelet or tab top curtains measure the drop from the top of the pole (See fig. 7).

IMPORTANT
It's important that you carefully measure your windows to ensure your curtains fit correctly. If you are in any doubt, please be sure to check again. By supplying these measurements you take full responsibility for the finished size of your roman blinds.
